The Book Addiction Tag

I hope everyone’s 2019 has started off great! Last month I got tagged to do The Book Addiction Tag. Thank you tons Jillian for thinking of me! There is nothing like a good bookish tag. Jillian shares some wonderful book content so please go pay her blog a visit.

I consider myself a book addict compared to a lot of people around me. But I believe most of my fellow book lovers have me beat!

What is the longest amount of time you can comfortably go without picking up a book?

I have went months without reading but it wasn’t comfortably. It was a slump.

How many books do you carry on your person (or kindle) at any time?

Normally just what I have on my phone. If I am reading a physical copy then I will take it with me if I know I will be gone somewhere for a length of time without doing anything.

Do you keep every book you buy/receive or are you happy to pass them on to make space for more?

Umm, I don’t think I have really gotten rid of anything. Yet.

How long would you spend a standard visit in a bookstore?

I can easily spend an hour.

How much time per day do you actually spend reading?

Right now I don’t have a set time for reading. But I would like to change that. At least an hour a day?

Where does the task “picking up a book” appear on your daily to do list?

Like I said I don’t have a set schedule. It really depends on what I am doing that day and my mood.

How many books do you reckon you own in total (including e-books)?

Roughly 105 and growing.

Approximately how often do you bring up books in conversation?

Since I am like the only person I know who reads, rarely.

What’s the biggest book (page count) you have finished reading?

I’ve read The Holy Bible KJV all the way through. Working on my second time.

Is there a book you had to get your hands on against all odds (i.e. searching bookshops, online digging, etc.)?

Usually if I love the first book in a series and can’t wait I immediately buy the ebook. I am trying to come out of that habit because I am trying to build my physical shelf up.

A book you struggled to finish but refused to DNF?

Wintersong. It was pretty bad but I wanted to finish the series and find out the Goblin King’s name.

What are 3 of your main book goals for 2019?

Still read enough and be active on my blog! I am having a baby so I don’t know really how everything will work out with my reading and blog. Finish majority of the things I already own. Participate in more readathons.

Have you ever had the privilege of converting someone into a reader (maybe via inspiration or incessant nagging)?

Sadly, no.

Describe what books mean to you in five words.

Escape, peaceful, happiness, relaxation, comfort.
