Book Review: Dashing Through the Snow by Debbie Macomber

Dashing Through the Snow
Title: Dashing through the Snow
Author: Debbie Macomber
Synopsis: Ashley Davison is desperate to spend the holidays with her mother in Seattle. Kevin Tyler just got assigned a mission in Seattle and must arrive by 23 December. Both frantic to book a last-minute flight out of California, Ashley and Kevin collide at the airport to learn that there are no flights and only one rental car available. After a rocky start, the two reluctantly agree to drive to Washington together. But their journey isn’t without obstacles, and a misunderstanding with the law threatens to ruin their holiday plans altogether.

Will Ashley make it home in time to surprise her mother? Will Kevin report to duty as expected? And most importantly, will they both have the opportunity to discover the greatest gift of all?

This is my first review since… SEPTEMBER. Runs and hides. With that being said I am sad to say that this book was very underwhelming. I knew that I finally wanted to read. Since I LOVE Christmas I wanted to read something festive. So I rushed on my Libby app to see what audiobooks were available because I knew I needed to read while I got some stuff done. Luckily this one was available the quickest. I have heard of this author multiple times before. I was expecting a Hallmark movie type of vibe.

It defiantly wasn’t that way, at all. The storyline was predictable, the romance was the worst instalove I have ever experienced, the characters were bland. It rarely even talked about Christmas. The plot twist at the beginning did take me for a loop but I found that it was ridiculous and way too much for that type of book. Maybe I had my hopes up too much? Maybe. I would like to give this author another chance though in the future. This was an okay quick read. Something to pass the time. At least I have one more book marked off my Goodreads goal for this year.

Rating: 3/5

First: I love that this is your first review since September and it’s totally selfish of me because I’ve been slacking SO HARD at writing reviews lately. I’m like 20 books behind on my reviews and I fear there is no saving it.

Also OUCH with this book. I’m proud of you for powering through! 3 star reviews are the hardest to write!

My goal was to read 40 this year but have only got to 30. So you’ve surpassed me big time! Be proud of how much you’ve accomplished. ❤️
Even if you can’t review every single one of them. You’ve wrote some awesome reviews this year.

Some reviews are so hard for me to write! This one was fairly easy but some are just plain frustrating. Even if it is a 5 star. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, haha.
