Goodreads Summary: The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies—humans with extraordinary abilities—who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone…except the villains they once overthrew.
Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice—and in Nova. But Nova’s allegiance is to a villain who has the power to end them both.
I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did! This was exactly what I needed. I haven’t read a book about superheroes yet. Considering my love for the Marvel movies, I don’t know why I kept avoiding them. Marissa has redeemed herself. Heartless is one of my favorites but I wasn’t wild over Cinder. This book gives me hope that the rest of the Lunar Chronicles will be better.
This was written brilliantly. I never got bored with it. The plot twist kept coming. I was not expecting it to go the way it did. Also, I thought this was a stand alone. Big shocker for me when I get to the last chapter of the book and realized that it was not. Now I am going to have to patiently wait for the conclusion. The little romance that was there was cute. I didn’t care about having just a little romance because I was so drawn into the mission Nova wanted to accomplish. Everyone had unique powers. I liked how some came from personal experiences that happened in their life.
Adrian and his glasses! I am not use to reading where the good looking guy has glasses. That just made me love him so much more. He was a little nerdy and I loved every bit of it! Nova was awesome. There were times where I didn’t think I would like her then she proved herself. I understand her motives for everything. I can’t wait to see what she does in the end. The rest of the Renegades were great. Their superpowers and their will to help the people. Even if the Anarchist are hated by everyone I felt my heart go to them. They were still lovable.
That ending though! It came out of no where. I was blown away. I need the next book like ASAP. If I didn’t have a lot on my TBR then I would read this again… now.
I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. Especially if you love prodigies!
